It is a pleasure to offer private yoga and mindfulness meditation classes. Over the years, I have seen how this combination creates possibilities for transformation and healing on all levels—body, mind, and heart. I offer one-on-one sessions that focus on any of the following areas of interest:

  • Yin Yoga

  • Restorative Yoga

  • Yoga for Healthy Aging

  • Mindfulness Meditation

Yin Yoga consists of a series of passive floor poses that are held for 3-5 minutes. Yin Yoga works to promote ease, fluidity, and flexibility. Yin poses help relieve stress and tension that build up in the body. As we age, we lose our full range of joint mobility and our fascia tightens. A consistent practice helps to regain mobility and ease pain. When you hold a Yin pose for several minutes, you are working beneath the muscles to target the deep connective tissues of the body. As a result, over time, your body will slowly let go of built-up tension.

Restorative Yoga poses allow you to relax and rest deeply and completely. It is a passive form of yoga that includes floor-based postures and props to support the body. Each pose is held with props such as a bolster, blocks, and folded blankets to relax the body. Restorative Yoga is a practice of letting go. Poses are generally maintained for a minimum of 5 minutes. This gives you the time and space to still the mind, reduce stress or anxiety, and cultivate calmness.

Yoga for Healthy Aging is wonderful for anyone over 50 years old. You will learn about the powerful connection between yoga and healthy aging. We will focus on poses, sequences, and variations that will help you gain balance, strength, flexibility, and agility—four essential physical skills for healthy aging. We will also practice various breathing techniques that will help you cultivate equanimity. Each class is customized just for you.

NOTE: Private one-on-one sessions include personalized guidance for each pose. Every body is different, so I make sure that my students prioritize function over form. The functional objective of the pose is what is important. There are many variations for each yoga pose, and I review this in detail with my students so they can reap the most benefit from a private session.

Private yoga sessions are suitable for everyone, regardless of age, race, gender, body type, or fitness level. Private classes are tailored specifically for YOU and focused on your specific needs. Each session is 1 hour 30 minutes and typically consists of the following:

  • 45-minute yoga practice customized just for you

  • 30 minutes of Restorative Yoga poses with guided mindfulness meditation

  • 15 minutes to discuss home practice ideas

You will leave our session more relaxed, grounded, and connected to yourself.

*I offer a free, complimentary 20-minute consultation prior to scheduling the private session. After the complimentary consultation, the cost is $100 per session.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:

I learned early in my yoga experience that there was much more to yoga than just the physical practice. Yoga gave me a sense of calmness and clarity. Through the dedicated practice of yoga, I felt grounded, balanced and stronger, both physically and emotionally. This inspired me to begin teaching yoga after completing my 500-hour yoga teacher training.
